MEET OUR TEAM

  • Person wearing a bee suit with a mesh face shield, glasses, and a cap, outdoors on a sunny day with green trees and blue sky in the background.

    Lisa (Beekeper)

Lisa, the founder of Deans Barn, has been a beekeeper since 2017. After experiencing the hugely positive impact beekeeping had on her well-being during the Covid-19 pandemic, she became passionate about sharing its benefits with others. Protecting and promoting pollinators is a core value for Lisa, along with creating an environment that is deeply connected to nature. This inspired her to expand her apiary and open the doors to Deans Barn.

    Jess (Tech)

Fear to fascination! Jess is the newest beekeeper at Deans Barn. Previously, she would run a mile at the sound of a bee nearby! However, after her experience at Deans Barn, she has completely overcome her fear and is now fascinated by every aspect of bees. Jess supports the tech side of the business. She designs the graphics; the jars, labels, paperwork etc and helps with the organisational running of Deans Barn.

    Dan (Beekeeper)

Dan is our apiary manager at Deans Barn, but he has been a beekeeper since 2017. Known as the "Dan the Bee Man," Dan is the go-to person for answering all your bee-related questions! With experience mentoring other beekeepers, he is continually expanding his knowledge by working through the various levels of beekeeping.

Louise is our market stall holder at the Lewes Friday Food Market, where you can find her every Friday from 9 am to 1 pm in the Market Tower. She’s always ready to talk you through our range of products, share the many health benefits of them, and offer tips on how you can support pollination by planting yourself.

    Catherine (Horticulture)

Catherine is our landscaper and horticultural lead, dedicated to ensuring that everything we plant at our apiaries is 100% safe and beneficial to both pollinators and the surrounding livestock. With experience working with bees at Deans Barn, Catherine loves the freedom beekeeping provides from the daily routine.
